The different steps of preparing the raw clock are the following, first the raw clock-case will be whitened, then glazed with a paint-brush by several layers of a mixture of "Blanc de Troyes" and a special "rabbit skin" glue. This must be done at a warm temperature and the room must ben specially well heated as well.
Sandpapering with various abrasive papers of thick grains to finest.
From there the plating (terre d'Arménie) will be posed, then the object will be wet with the paint-brush in a mixture of water added with alcohol.
Thus the gold seet will be brought with a very fine paint-brush where the sheet will be attracted on the prepared surface.
A few hours afterwards, gold is crushed under the preasure of the agate stone and becomes brilliant.
